Poker Podcast that I listen to and WSOP online!

Whatever you like, there is probably a podcast that goes with it.  Poker is no different. I started off listening to a Two Plus Two podcast probability around 2013. Listened for 5 years until the show stopped. The other one I listened to was The Final Table with pro Dennis Phillips and co-host Paul Harris, plus big-name poker pros as guests. Very entertaining podcast. That was around 2011-2012. Both are no longer in production but if you want to hear some great interviews The Final Table would be worth listening to.

What about what’s on today? Well, I listen to four podcast now. Each has their own approach and they are all unique in their own ways. Here is the breakdown.

DAT podcast. Hosted by Daniel Negreanu, Adam Schwartz, Terrence Chan and Ross Henry. Adam Schwartz and Terrence Chan were hosting Two Plus Two podcast back when I listened to that one so when this podcast started, it was very easy to tune in. Format is good, some hockey talk thrown in, listener Q&A. Sometimes some guest but not often.  Also keeps you current to what is happening in the main stream poker world.

Ante Up. This is the longest running podcast on the internet today. The host are Christopher Cosenza and Scott Long. To me, it sounds like two buddies just sitting around talking poker. What’s is going on, review of poker hands each show.

The Chip Race. Sponsored by Unibet Poker, hosted by David Lappin and Dara O’Kearney. Consistent podcast from week to week. One thing that cracks me up is they HATE Daniel Negreanu. If they get a chance to poke him or call him out on something, they will.  They always have a guest on the show, they keep you updated on what’s going on in the poker world. I feel like I always learn something from the shows. Quality job.

Poker in the Ears. This podcast is hosted by James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton (#hellomybabies). If you listened to just about any episode, you would think that you were listening to an Entertainment Weekly program or something else. Not a poker podcast. They talk about their work week, each show has a superfan on of a movie and they play a quiz game with the superfan and Joe Stapleton. Sometimes they throw in a poker news, but really just sometimes.  They say the same quotes to start a segment of the show and if you listen enough, you will quote them. I would say it is the comic relief for the long list of poker podcast.

So, what’s my favorite? The one I look forward to the most is Poker in the Ears. The one I look forward to the most on higher level coverage is The Chip Race.  The one I like the least is Ante Up. That leaves DAT podcast. Where does it fall? Somewhere in the middle.  I do enjoy their banter.

Hope that helps if you are looking for something poker related to pass the time! Enjoy!

WSOP started yesterday online! Event #1 happened and it was an exciting start! Phil Hellmuth went out in 11th position as he was shooting for his #16 wsop bracelet! Tony Dunst, announcer on the TV show WPT finished 3rd for $57k, and Jonathan Dokler took it down for $130k. I watched the final table on twitch replay on the wsop feed. Very good commentary and always fun to watch, in this case history with it being online.

The only two places in the US that you can play online is Nevada and New Jersey. Guess where Sir Bucky goes every summer? Ocean City! No, not Maryland but Ocean City, New Jersey!!! I will be there the week of the 19th of July and I will play in one WSOP event! No traveling to Vegas (although Vegas is always a blast!), no extra cost, and it’s online (I love playing online!)!!! Wish me luck as I go for bracelet number one!!! I will not be able to stream it but if something special happens, I will post on my Instagram account. Now that I think about it, I might be able to stream on my phone. I will check that out before then! Like I told my friend 18DaBest, if I win that event, the next blog will be a heck of one to write!!
