The Good,The Bad ,The Ugly

The Good: Last night was Poker League night, my favorite day of the month. Had a blast as always and played my normal game for the most part. Had a good double up on a nut flush over a lower flush. About two hands later, I played a stupid hand of my 22 vs. Brad’s (more about him later) 44. The fours held up and I lost around $1600 in chips but still had a good stack. Then I got involved in a hand that I bluffed on and almost pulled it off when a call came from a guy I put all in. He shouldn’t have even been in the hand but that’s how it goes sometime. Anyway, went out in 13th position (The Bad) but the kind of good news is Joel went out in 14th so I did gain another point on him (more good) which brings the lead to 7 separating me from him. I know next month will be a better round, I hope!

A few blogs ago, I mentioned a live tourney I was invited to play in. My buddy Brad holds it every year. It was my first time playing in it and did okay but was more worried about Kentucky playing than playing cards so you know how that goes. Brad was short stacked and ready to play full time role as host for the evening. I gave him a few chips back and he started his comeback. When I did leave, he was still short stacked and fighting. I wasn’t around to see the final table but I heard that every one was having a blast and yes, Brad was at the final table. He ended up winning the whole darn thing and that just goes to show you what can happen. Congrats Brad! (The Ugly- Brad that is!) Oh, and look at the winning hand. Yep, It’s The Schmidt! Pays off AGAIN!
